Thimphu: The City Scene

This post features student writing.

The moment we arrived in Thimphu, I started to smile…Seeing civilization again after camping felt refreshing, seeing so many people, all the stores, the cars, the items. I felt like I was in New York. The stores had so much variety to them. I felt intrigued to go into every store. There were so many different things each store was selling, from guitars to TVs, to clothing, to washing machines.

There was a cafe right next to a kid’s store, which was right next to an electronics store. This store was my favorite because I love technology! Seeing all the phones and gadgets made me feel like a kid in a candy store. The prices were also so cheap and that’s when I knew that I WAS a kid in a candy store who was going to bring home a whole lot of goodies.
